General Questions:
What makes Ansun different from other firms?
We believe its our team and the way we operate as a business. In addition to the substantive qualifications of our team, there is a true sense of family and trust that we believe is unique and provides additional value to the experience with our clients and with each other.
Will my discussions and information exchanged with you be held in confidence?
Absolutely. Your decision to communicate with us about your career options is taken very seriously. Our confidentiality obligation to you is critical and one of the core tenets of everyone on our team while providing our service and communicating with you. We realize that trust is earned over time, but thankfully we have been able to accelerate the timetable toward establishing trusting and candid communications because of the characteristics of our team members and the people that will be communicating with you. In addition, our trusting relationship with you is further facilitated because of the assistance of many of your peers and contacts who have vouched for our abilities to be discreet, maintain confidence and best service your needs. We do not take your disclosures to us lightly and we want our communications with you to be treated with the same level of respect.
Do you help law students or recent J.D. recipients?
As time permits, we do provide informal guidance to law students or recent JD recipients. However, our services and the needs of our clients require us to direct most of our efforts toward experienced attorneys who have at least a year or more legal experience acquired in an employment setting.
I submitted my information, why has no one contacted me directly from your firm?
We do our best to directly contact everyone who has contacted us or sent their information in for consideration. Please know that the information you have sent to us will be held in confidence and will not be shared with anyone outside of our organization until we have received prior consent from you. We will keep your information in our confidential database and constantly refer to it as we seek to identify matching opportunities to your skill set and background. The efforts to best ensure that we are most effectively fulfilling our ethical and business obligations, oftentimes leaves our team short on time to respond to everyone. However, know that you will be contacted as soon as an opportunity presents itself because (a) a great opportunity has become available that matches your interest and/or (b) an opportunity arises to get to know your background and interests better to ensure we understand your desires and are targeting the right discussions for you in the future.
Attorney FAQs – Executive Legal Search Questions:
How can I be considered as a candidate for full time positions?
We are constantly reaching out to interview and screen candidates for current and future full time positions, and our outreach efforts may have previously allowed us to learn of your interests, if any, to be considered for certain full time positions. However, the best way to ensure that you are considered for full time opportunities is to make your interests known by confidentially registering with us, and letting us know of your interests via your cover message and the submission of your resume which will be kept in confidence in our records.
I’m looking to move to another city. Can you help me?
Yes, but to a certain extent (i) it depends on the city of interest to you, (ii) the opportunities that you are looking for, and (iii) the then current condition of the legal marketplace and our clients that are operating therein. As an example, members of our team have worked on opportunities in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, California and Georgia.
What are the charges for these services to me?
There are no charges to you for the services we provide to you during our efforts on your behalf with our clients’ search assignments. Our client employers greatly appreciate our efforts and compensate us for our efforts at the conclusion of our services and the successful placement of you with their organization.
If the hiring organization pays you, then how do I know I’ll be getting balanced counsel from you?
The brief answer is that we aren’t interested in performing our services to just help you find “the next job”, and taking a short-sided position of simply attempting to jam you into a position with our clients for a quick fee. We have built a great reputation because we are in the business of helping professionals achieve their respective career goals over the long-term and thereby keep a line of communication open with you over many years. That said, we also provide certain contractual guarantees of your success with the new hiring organization, and as a result, fees received by us from a hiring organization may have to be returned if you don’t work out there. With the above statements being made, we believe our interests are aligned with yours and our clients because we have a vested interest in your success with the new organization, and even without the money exchanged, we genuinely care about our candidates’ long-term careers as legal professionals.
Attorney FAQs – Legal Services/Professional Staffing Questions:
How can I be considered to become a Legal Consultant with Ansun?
We are constantly interviewing and screening attorneys for current and future opportunities to be a part of our team as a legal consultant to work on projects we have received from our clients. However, the best way to ensure that you are considered to be a part of our team is to confidentially submit your resume to us and let us know of your experience and interests. After our review of your information, and if we believe that you are qualified to work on some of our ongoing projects, we will contact you to discuss your background further and then discuss next steps regarding projects that may be of interest to you to work on in the future.
Can I be considered as a candidate for short-term project opportunities and full-time opportunities as a permanent employee with a hiring organization?
Yes. Whether you disclosed this interest to us or not, we understand that many things can happen when good people come together. As a result, some of our clients who you may work for on a project may offer you a position of permanent employment during your time working with them. In the alternative, a job opportunity may be available for you to pursue with a different organization while you are working on a project. In the interest of not “burning any bridges” we just ask that you keep a line of communication with us about your desire and/or progress with pursuing other opportunities. If you end up deciding that you don’t want to work on a matter any longer, we would appreciate the opportunity to transition another qualified professional in to the position you are leaving and preserve the relationship for you to return to, or others to service, in the future.
How much money will I make as a staff attorney representative?
The money that you will make with us depends upon: (a) the type of project that you are willing to service, (b) your experience and expertise with certain subject matters, and (c) the length of time that you spend on any one or more projects throughout the calendar year. Generally, we pay each of our attorneys at an hourly or daily level that is competitive with some of the law firms and corporate legal departments operating in the areas where that attorney resides. If you meet our hiring criteria, and are ready and capable to service projects when called upon, then we plan on creating an environment where you should have the best balance of your professional and personal life that you have experienced -- competitive pay for your expertise and a lifestyle that allows you to pursue whatever your personal interests might be.
You will also be eligible for additional monetary bonuses, subject to our review of our company’s performance during the year and your contributions to that success.
Do you offer benefits to people who become Ansun Legal Consultants?
Yes, we offer benefits to our attorneys. Our benefits are provided immediately upon your reaching certain eligibility requirements throughout the year. We would be more than happy to discuss our benefits available to you in more detail, after we have determined your qualifications to work with us.
